I want to thank all of you for being such nice buddies with me. It was a pleasure knowing and being friends with you guys.

Whenever I’m around you guys, I’ve never felt so carefree in my entire life. I’m sorry if I’ve been rather cold towards everyone at the start. But after seeing how much fun you guys have, seeing how much joy there is in every one of you, it’s like looking at toddlers laughing and having fun. Toddlers don’t have much to worry about; they just laugh and have fun. The only thing they need is love and care. I’m not the type of teenager who still lives off their parents, who still gets spoon-fed now and then. I have a lot of things to think about. I have to think about how I’m going to pay for my school fees, my tons of bills, whether I have enough money to last me for the day, sometimes weeks, whether I’m going to have a bed to sleep in the next day. You can call it too much for a teenager to handle, but I’ve had worst. What I’m trying to say is, even though there’s so much things that I have to think about each minute and each second, but when you guys come to me, it’s like having the weight of the world just being lifted off my shoulders. I can just forget about everything and have as much fun as I want to. You guys are like candle lights. In total darkness, you guys suddenly light up and give me warmth.

All of the credits, and I mean all of it, goes to a really greatly loved friend. She tries to help me as much as I want to help her, sometimes even more. She’s a very strong person and someone everyone should look up to. She never fails to reach out and help those in need. I quote what Martin Luther King Jr. said, “An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.” I’d say this girl is living a life of greatness. Yes her name’s Joyce Lim. The first time she brought me to the service, I told her, “Later the moment the pastor talks ah, I tell you I confirm sleep like last time I go one!” But evidently, I was wrong. I was awake throughout, at times humoured by what he said. Saying that I never felt even a slight boredom or whatever would be a lie, but the fact is that I was actually motivated after the whole thing. I’m not saying that I believe in the God that you believe in. But if you ask me what I thought of the service you guys have at your church, I’d say it’s like a motivation session. And that was the first day I got to know you guys. The first day I felt everyone’s warmth.

The bottom-line of this message to you guys is I want to thank all of you for giving me a whole new perspective of how life should be lived. All of you have made a difference in my life. You have touched my life in every way you guys never knew, even in that short period of time. It was an honour for me to have friends like all of you. The world's a best place cos of people like you who take the time to do nice things the way you guys always do. I am glad friendship doesn’t come with price tags. Cos if it does, I could never afford friends as great as all of you. I will do my best to live my life to the fullest, like how every one of you do. Thank You. Happy New Year.
